It Will Always be 52 North Washington Avenue To Me

I am feeling a little adrift knowing that I will not be going back to this house again. It has been the center point of our family that we have been drawn back to again and again for the Annuals, Thanksgiving dinners, Christmas celebrations, birthdays, Memorial weekends, to visit Paul & Janet, to see our old Oxford friends and just to enjoy life. Good bye you wonderful old house, you are truly blessed with grace & beauty which we have had the pleasure to share. As the sign said, thanks for the Memories.

Beautifully said, James.

I feel a little buffered out here in California, since my trips back in recent years have been sporadic. I find I still expect to make the journey home, to the familiar center you write so eloquently about. Then I remember: Alas...not possible.

So....

We need to figure out how to to create a new center. ... but is that possible? How and where?

And another thing:

607-843-2401?

What does that get you now? Whatever it is, it's not the same. Not at all.

I have to say it makes me feel really sad to know that we may never meet again at that beautiful home in Oxford. Not only that but the "this ain't no picnic" has been such a great getting together of people from all over the country. It may never be the same to go anywhere else but that little town and that great home in Oxford. I would love to still see that great group of people who make the trek to Oxford. An alternative? Lets work on it. Gary
